A pure copper nib, born from the desire to create a durable and pleasant-to-use tool. Designed by Yuto Yamazaki of the Kuramae-based design studio Alloy, this uniquely designed nib is the result of numerous prototypes. Its rounded and carefully polished tip offers a surprisingly smooth writing sensation for a metal nib.
Depending on the holding angle, it allows for fine and precise lines or wide and expressive strokes — a versatile tool for both writing and drawing and illustration. Copper naturally patinas over time, transitioning from a warm rose gold to a deep brown — a nib that is "cultivated" over the years.
Tilt the nib below 45° to vary the thickness and create brushstroke-like effects. When the ink diminishes, gently rotate the nib to bring more ink into the grooves. One dip is enough to write a postcard-sized message.
Undecided between the copper nib and the brass nib? The copper nib gradually rounds with use for an increasingly fluid and personal line, while the brass nib offers a firmer and more precise feel for a consistent line.
Pen holder sold separately.
Compatible with Kakimori pen holders and most other manufacturers. Recommended with Kakimori and Inkstand pigmented inks.
