The furin is a traditional Japanese wind chime, a symbol of summer, whose refreshing sound soothes hot and humid days. This blown glass furin, handmade and painted in Japan, is designed with increased thickness at the mouth, which enriches its tone and sound. Its slight wave pattern inside the glass creates a beautiful diffused light effect.
The decorative patterns of this furin are inspired by sakura, the cherry blossom, a symbol of ephemerality and fleeting beauty. According to tradition, a poem or a wish can be inscribed on the cardboard vane (tansatsu) to be carried by the wind; this can be replaced if it gets damaged over time.
Ideal for bringing a touch of freshness and poetry to an interior or a terrace during the summer.
