The Hobonichi Techo HON A5 is a planner with an integrated cover, reminiscent of a cherished book you carry everywhere. Its stitched binding allows it to lay completely flat at 180 degrees, and its Tomoe River S paper pages—thin, lightweight, and particularly suited for fountain pens—offer a smooth and pleasant writing experience without the risk of bleeding.

This edition is illustrated by Yumi Kitagishi, a Japanese illustrator known for her colorful and imaginative world where animals live like humans—cats being her favorite characters. This is her fourth collaboration with Hobonichi and her first on a HON. The "White Cat and Rabbit's Tea Room" cover is from her Dollhouse series: a white cat warmly welcomes at the door while rabbits prepare tea and a slice of shortcake. The back depicts animals living in a house made of books, all engrossed in their reading. Delicate small flowers are scattered throughout, and on the spine, the 2027 vintage and a small white cat motif add a discreet and charming touch.

Each day benefits from a full page with a fine 3.7 mm grid and a discrete hourly timeline on the left side for planning busy days. An inspiring quote appears at the bottom of each two-page spread. The notebook also includes annual index pages, full monthly calendars, and bonus pages: My 100, Favorites, a 365-day annual calendar, and a map of the Kanda/Jinbo-cho neighborhood in Tokyo.
